Development of a Pediatric Transfusion Medicine Curriculum
Currently, no formal programs exist to train physicians in the field of pediatric transfusion medicine. Nationwide, there are only a handful of physicians who have expertise in this field. There is a need for a comprehensive curriculum in pediatric transfusion medicine that would attract new trainees who would become the future educators and researchers in the field. Dr. Sanchez Rosen is one of the recipients of an academic career development award sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute to develop, implement, and disseminate a pediatric transfusion medicine curriculum across the continuum of medical education.
